The Hobonichi Techo HON 2026 “The Little House” planner is inspired by the classic picture book The Little House, illustrated by American author and artist Virginia Lee Burton and first published in 1942.

The original story follows a small house resting peacefully on a hillside, surrounded by apple trees and changing seasons. Over time, horse-drawn carriages give way to automobiles, railways appear, and tall buildings rise as the city grows around it. Despite the changes, the story continues to resonate with readers and has remained beloved in Japan for over 70 years since its first publication.
Cover Design
The cover preserves the book’s iconic bright blue color, reminiscent of a clear sky. The hand-drawn lettering and warm illustration style reflect the charm of the original picture book.
The glossy finish gives the planner the appearance of a hardcover picture book. The back cover features the same smiling sun motif as the original book, surrounded by a circular design that resembles both gentle sunlight and daisy petals blooming beside the little house.
