The Hobonichi Techo HON 2026 Paper Series “Black Gingham” planner features a refined hardcover design made with premium paper from Takeo, a well-known Japanese paper specialist.

At first glance, it appears to be a simple black notebook. Upon closer inspection, a subtle gingham pattern emerges across the surface. The cover uses Takeo “Gingham GA” paper, embossed with a fabric-like check pattern that reveals different textures depending on the angle of light. Despite the embossed finish, the surface remains smooth to the touch.

The year “2026” is elegantly stamped in silver foil on the cover. Unlike other HON models, this edition uses a kiridashi (layered paper cutting) construction instead of a backing board, resulting in a cover that feels lighter and more flexible.

Minimalist Design
