The Hobonichi Techo HON 2026 “Waiting for Harmony” planner features an original illustration by Hiroko Kubota, known for her calm, story-driven worlds filled with quiet imagination and poetic detail.

This carefully illustrated design tells a gentle visual story. On the front cover, a cat sits quietly on the E key of a piano, waiting for someone. On the back cover, another cat rests on the same key while reading. As the viewer looks closer, the scene unfolds little by little—suggesting a moment suspended in time, waiting for harmony to be played.

Soft grass spreads across the foreground, evoking a peaceful atmosphere, as if music may one day fill this tranquil world. A white cat holds a red flower bud, listening intently, while a black cat appears reading quietly on the back cover. Birds are also part of the scene: one sits thoughtfully at a keyboard, while another appears alongside a cello on the back, waiting for the right moment to sing or play.

Cover Design

The cover and spine are stamped with “2026” in silver foil, which subtly reflects light. The surface features a matte PP finish, giving the cover a smooth, refined texture suitable for everyday use.
